Stupid, Stupid, Stupid

Any John Grisham fans out there? If so, then that line would remind you of a good book about a recently graduated University of Memphis Law School graduate. It is a line from the courtroom drama scene where the CEO of a major insurance company was required to recite a line from a letter that his company had sent the plaintiff in the case.

Well it certainly describes how I feel about the past four weeks. Why did I try to accomplish in two trips for minor events a goal that only the ME would accomplish? I spent as much during the past six months, including on line entries and live entries this month in LV, as I would have spent just waiting and buying into the final event. I know it is a huge mine field and a crap shoot, but damn, watching both of my WSOP tournaments end in a fiery crash, makes me feel just sick. I was a 70-30 favorite getting it in last Friday and I watched the player easily catch the flush on the river. She went on to finish 15th for $37,000. Jeez o Pete, enough is enough.

Anyway, enough about that. Did anyone see the High Stakes Poker last night? Matesow finally had his meltdown, I saw a straight flush and the play was just down right interesting. It is my favorite poker show on TV, by far. I also caught the Poker Superstars II from Sunday (Tivo is great). Gus Hansen had to win, and he did. He went all in the first 9 hands, knocked out Phil Hellmuth in the dark with a flopped set. It was awesome. Beat Esfandiari heads up to make the semi-finals.

WSOP is on again tonight as ESPN has started showing the circuit events, leading up to the main event. Also, lets think about a get together to watch the final table. It is going to be on PPV live. I think 55" of HD poker is a good way to spend an afternoon.

Anyone up for that? If so, then Mrs. Grip may have to find something to do that night. Anyway, until next time,

Good Luck and See You at the Felt....................

I'd be up for a final table viewing party, as long as we have some poker to go along with it.

Keep in mind that I don't believe that the PPV event will be showing the hole cards. Could be pretty boring.

Poker as it was shown on TV before. I love the old WSOP telecasts. Has anyone out there played "Guess who is bluffing"? It will be interesting to me anyway. Worth the $25 for sure.
