Merry Christmas

Okay,

I am sorry for the delayed post. It is kinda hard to get excited about blogging about losing a $1.20 45-player SNG on stars. Here is the story. I took out $3,000, which we needed for travel and Christmas. That left $1,000 in stars. I have not had a good December. Lost it. Stars now has $0.03 in it and it will stay that way until their WSOP qualifiers start in April or so. I will then put in $500 and use it strictly for getting a WSOP seat. Lose it, and quit stars for a while.

I know it was my aggressive style, hyper at times, but I cannot seem to find a long term strategy to beat the game on line. I am thinking about it, but do not know what to change to turn it around.

On line:

I am a charter member of www.fullcontactpoker.com. That gets me a $300 bonus (100% 0f first $300), that I convert into dollars very quickly. I will deposit $300 into FCP tonight and play 3-6 until the bonus is earned. I will then look at their tournaments. It looks like the tournament equity is pretty good, i.e. less than 10% juice on <$100 events. We will have to see. I like the look of the tables. The loss limit is $300.

Weasel and I still have our shared party account which has a few hundred in it. I have done decent in their SNG, and have played 2-4 when the bad beat jackpot gets above $200k, which happens a lot.

Live:

I am going to the gulf coast this weekend, so I am going to head over for one day of poker at the Imperial Palace in Biloxi. It reopened yesterday with a new 16 table poker room. I will probably start at 1-2 nl and move to either 2-5 nl or 20-40 limit by the end of the night. We will have to wait and see. I am looking forward to seeing how the action is at the only game in town. I am hoping for a lot of tourist, but if the tough locals are the only ones there, I will probably stick with 1-2 NL and have some fun.

January:

I am going to Tunica for the first two weekends. I am definitely playing the $500 NL event the first Saturday, and maybe the $500 limit on Sunday, we will have to wait and see on that one. I am going back the next weekend and will play either the $1000 or the $1500 at the WPO (shortened this year). For the schedule check out www.pokerpages.com.

Super Bowl

Kentucky Rock and I are heading out to Vegas again this year. We are staying at our fourth hotel in four years. This year, Harrahs gets out business. But I will spend all the time at the Bellagio room, except for at least one session at the new Caesar's room. It looks classy, check out www.allvegaspoker.com for a review. I will play the Saturday $1000 event at the bellagio and at least one event at Caesars. It should be a blast.
