Back to the Grindstone
Thanks for your patience. I had a very interesting Thanksgiving holiday. Mrs. Grip's family came in and we had a nice manageable crowd at the house until Saturday morning when they all went home. I made a few FT in the $20 180 player events (3) and cashed in two more. I made it deep last night in a $10 no rebuy event 10/962, but it only paid $64.
Bad news. I got creamed in the 10-20 and 5-10 limit cash games. I had not played much cash games on line the last few months, and for good reason. My style is built for NL tournaments, and that is where I will stay going forward. I played the cash games because of the time commitments required for our guests. In fact, I was 20 minutes late to dinner on Friday night because I made it to a FT in a $20 event. Mrs. Grip was not happy, so off to cash games I go. Primarily so I could quit when I need to for the guests.
All that being said, the account is now down to a baseline that I am not comfortable with. I will be playing only $20 entry events or under for the time being. As I am killing those events, I hope to have the account built back up to above $2,000 soon. (Full disclosure I moved $2100 out of the account - $1,500 for Mrs. Grip's Christmas, $600 for the debacle 1-2 live nl game last weekend).
Oh well, I have taken the time to learn from this repeated mistake. Until the WSOP, only tournaments. I am refining my game into a NL tournament crushing style, which is where the money is right now. I am close to where I want to be with that process, and I will not interfere with the process again.
Until next time,
Good Luck and See You at the (Tournament) Felt.........................
